Handling Common Issues

Loose Bracket

Call our office to schedule a repair appointment. Keep the bracket in place with orthodontic wax if needed.

Poking Wire

Use orthodontic wax to cover the poking end. You can also try gently pushing it with a pencil eraser.

Soreness

This is normal after adjustments. Take over-the-counter pain reliever and eat soft foods for a few days.

Lost Elastic

Replace it as soon as possible with a spare from your supply. Wear elastics as directed for best results.

Food Stuck

Use a proxy brush or water flosser to remove trapped food. Rinse thoroughly after meals.

Irritation

Apply orthodontic wax to any areas causing irritation. Your mouth will adjust in a few weeks.
