Step-by-Step Brushing Guide
Rinse Your Mouth
Start by rinsing with water to loosen food particles around your braces.
Brush at a 45-Degree Angle
Hold your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the gum line. Brush above and below the brackets.
Clean Each Tooth
Spend about 10 seconds on each tooth, cleaning all surfaces including the tops, bottoms, and backs.
Don't Forget Your Gums
Brush along the gum line and the chewing surfaces of your teeth.
Floss Daily
Use a floss threader or orthodontic flosser to clean between teeth and under wires.
Rinse and Inspect
Rinse thoroughly and check in the mirror to ensure all food particles are removed.
